Cardiff Taste Piece Of Man United Classic Pie After Defeat

Manchester United sent a statement of intent on Saturday evening after a resounding 5-1 away win over Cardiff. This result was significant on various fronts. It was new boss Ole Gunnar  Solskjaer’s first game in charge of the Red Devils.

Secondly, it was United’s highest scoring win since 2012 and that was during Sir. Alex Ferguson’s era. Thirdly, it was match that revealed the real Manchester United. From the go, United pressed the home side with reckless abandon.

Marcus Rashford deceptive thunderbolt of a free kick set the tone for the rest of the tie. All in all, there was free-flowing football. The kind of football that could even electrify non-football lovers. Paul Pogba, highly criticised this season, took charge of the match and played a game of jump rope with Cardiff players.

Pogba showed his class after being given a more attacking role.

He commanded that midfield position like only he could. More importantly, the Red Devils created chances and finished them off without mercy. The 74% ball possession was a true reflection of how well United played.

A little birdie should whisper to Jose Mourinho and show him the clip of how the same team he managed last week, managed to play like kings after he was sacked. This may just be a small piece in a jigsaw puzzle but hey, the future looks GREAT!
